with reference to your letter of the 18th Decesbar
(F.13159/4/10) regarding the stopping of the motor vessel
"ringshean" by a Japanese destroyer, I m directed by the
Board of Trade to state that they concur in the proposal
to approve the setica suggested or Hdie injeuty'a
Ambassad 2 in Tokyo that he should take up the mattor with
the Japanese Authorition if the written report for which
be lè waiting showa (sa it probably will, judging from the
telegram No. 607 whiab the Commander-in-Chiefa thin,
addressed to the Ambassador on the 6th December) that the
setion of the Japanese ¡¡aval authorities want bayond that
permitted by the agreed procedure, for the verification
of identity of vessele thought to be chinese.
A copy of this letter is being want to the admiralty
and colonial office.
